Sporting Director & Head Coach Frank Yallop
On how he felt coming into the game:
“Good. We played very well Wednesday but didn’t quite get the result we wanted and needed. But we felt really confident. The guys have been training well and are in a good spot, so I felt it was going to be a good night. Obviously, Antony [Siaha] came up with two penalty saves, huge, and Chuy [Enríquez] came up with the winning goal. I felt in the general play we played well enough to win the game. They are a dangerous side. That’s why they are top of the league in our division. But I felt we created some really good chances in the first half, and on the break in the second half, we did the same thing. Really happy, super pleased for the guys and all the fans who came to the game.”
On preparations for Sacramento:
“Rest. We have had two tough games against two really good teams in the last five days. We are looking forward to the game on Saturday in Sacramento. We are not dreading it. We just played really well and won. We want to come out on top and get the three points. That’s the most important thing to me. Any game you play, you are trying to win.”
Forward Chuy Enríquez
On how it felt to score:
“The first thing I thought about was the team. We haven’t been having the results that we deserve. Going to places that are tough to play, then coming back and not being lucky enough to score the opportunities that we’ve had. So, first of all, I am really happy for the win, and then obviously the goal was pretty special for me. I haven’t scored in over two years, so it was definitely a weight lifted off my shoulders, and I have to thank God for that.”
On looking forward to the next match:
“I’m excited. We are coming off a big win like this, beating the first-place team. You want to get on the field again and work hard to get ready for the next game. Obviously, we have another great opponent coming in, Sacramento, so we are excited for that one.”
