On how it felt to be back at home:
“It was fantastic, really good. There was a terrific crowd tonight and tons of energy, not only on the field but off the field with the crowd. I think it was a great night for all. I thought the team performed well and part of that is the crowd. Getting into the game, everyone stayed till the end so it was fantastic. It was a really good team performance and a great three points against a very good team.”
On his perspective of Baca’s goal:
“Well I’m at field level so you can’t see it all. I haven’t seen the highlights yet but I think we deserved even more in the first half. I thought we dominated them with our press and we’re trying to work on that especially this year with the guys we have that are willing and able to fight and run and do the right things and listen to the coaching. It worked and it’s a start. We’re still early in our team being together with the new guys coming in, but the way we played tonight is the way we want to play from now on. I thought the subs did a good job again, but our starting eleven was excellent. Walmer [Martínez] jumped in to full back like he’s played there all his life and that was done yesterday. I’m really happy with everybody individually and collectively.”
Midfielder Adrian Rebollar
On his game-winning assist:
“From the beginning we said we were going to start pressing. I had a feeling the ball was going to be played back and I was able to intercept the ball and I saw Baca at the top of the box, composed. It was a nice finish and we got up a goal.”
On the team chemistry:
“On and off the field we’re going to war for each other and we’re all brothers. We know that every person in the locker room is willing to fight for each other. We’re a big group and a family going from the front office to the locker room to the coaching staff, just everybody. We’re one big family and it showed tonight and the last couple of games.”
