MONTEREY BAY ADDS HOME PRESEASON MATCH AGAINST SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES’ MLS NEXT PRO SIDE QUAKES II
SEASIDE, California (Thursday, February 8, 2024) – Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay F.C.) has announced an additional home preseason match at Cardinale Stadium on Saturday, February 24 against the San Jose Earthquakes’ MLS NEXT Pro side Quakes II. The match kicks off at 6 p.m. PT and offers MBFC fans a second, close-up look in the run up to the 2024 USL Championship regular season opener in March. Tickets to the match are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. 2024 season ticket members can purchase their seats at their discounted rate by logging into their account HERE.
The upcoming fixture marks the third consecutive preseason that the two organizations have played each other in some capacity, continuing the relationship initially ushered in by current Monterey Bay F.C. Sporting Director and Head Coach Frank Yallop. Yallop managed the Earthquakes in Major League Soccer for nine seasons over two stints, the first of which resulted in Yallop leading the San Jose side to two MLS Cup Championships in 2001 and 2003. Yallop entered the San Jose Earthquakes’ Hall of Fame in April 2023 as first among all head coaches in club history in games coached with 257 and wins with 99.
