SALINAS, Calif. (Friday, July 29, 2022) – Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay F.C.) goalkeeper Carlos Herrera, defenders Hunter Gorskie and Jiro Barriga Toyama, and midfielders Adrian Rebollar, Mobi Fehr and Jesse Maldonado all dropped into an El Camino Futbol Club (El Camino FC) training in Salinas on Tuesday, July 26, accompanied by Head Coach Frank Yallop and Assistant Coach Ramiro Corrales, a Salinas native.
The training consisted of six clubs at different age levels. The Union contingent began the visit by introducing themselves to the entire group at midfield, and one at a time sharing their stories about making it to the professional level. After speaking with the group, the Monterey Bay F.C. players and coaches split up to join in on drills and activities with each age group within El Camino FC.
El Camino Futbol Club is one of the most successful and recognized soccer clubs in all of Northern California with a mission to provide a platform in which the youth can learn the game of soccer, and other life-enriching lessons, in a positive and safe environment.
“It’s always amazing to go out and spend time with different youth soccer clubs like El Camino FC and interact with the kids,” said Herrera. “The kids remind me of a younger version of myself, training and aspiring to be a professional one day, so it is a privilege to have the opportunity to give back and make a positive impact on them.”
