SEASIDE, Calif. (Thursday, July 21, 2022) – Monterey Bay F.C. announces today that the club has agreed to transfer midfielder Robbie Crawford to Charleston Battery for an undisclosed fee, a move that affords Crawford, who is expecting his first child, the opportunity to return to his family in the Charleston area.
Crawford made his Monterey Bay F.C. debut on April 2 against Sacramento Republic FC after officially signing with the Union a day earlier. Crawford spent the previous two seasons with Charleston, where he scored three goals and added one assist in 39 regular season appearances. He now returns to Charleston for the remainder of the current campaign.
In 11 regular season appearances (nine starts) for the Union, Crawford recorded three blocks, eight interceptions, 11 clearances, 14 chances created and 15 tackles across 783 minutes. In addition, Crawford’s four assists are currently tied for the team high. Crawford also started in the club’s lone U.S. Open Cup match this season, adding a goal in the 87th minute.
