The pair will play their first professional matches not only on the campus of their former University, but in their hometown.
“I’m excited to see the commencement of the new stadium and to see all of the fans that are going to be there,” said Martínez. “I’m excited to get our first win at home, and especially to see all of the local people that have seen me grow be at the stadium that night. It’s going to be an important night for us as a club. It’s our first game in history there at our home field and I’m super excited to get a win and see all the people cheering us on.”
“I’m excited to play in front of all of our fans at Cardinale Stadium,” said Rebollar. “Our fans have been patiently waiting and we can’t wait to come out and play for them. The wait will definitely be worth it. It’s going to be an amazing atmosphere.”

“We are extremely excited and proud of the fact that two former California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) players will be representing Monterey Bay F.C. in its home opener on May 7,” said Graeme Japp, Head Coach of the CSUMB men’s soccer team. “Adrian and Walmer are great examples for local players who have an incredible drive to be the best versions of themselves and do not let any barrier stop them. It shows the local players here in the area that there is a pathway for those that have the same ambition and are willing to put in the work to play professional soccer. The CSUMB staff will be attending and cheering them on.”
Monterey Bay F.C. will hit the road to Los Angeles this weekend as it takes on LA Galaxy II at Dignity Health Sports Park at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 16. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
