Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay F.C.) announced today that the club has signed forward Chase Boone ahead of its inaugural season in the USL Championship. Boone joins MBFC after spending the 2021 season with fellow Championship club San Diego Loyal SC. The signing is pending league and federation approval.
“Chase is new to the league but spent six quality months with San Diego,” said Sporting Director and Head Coach, Frank Yallop. “Even with limited minutes I felt he did well and I’m looking forward to getting the best out of him on the pitch.”
The Oregon native spent his collegiate career at the University of Redlands where he scored 34 goals and had 25 assists in his 88 career appearances for the Bulldogs. During his junior season, Boone was named to the NSCAA All-West Region Team and led the SCIAC conference in goals (18), shots (69), and points (43). He also earned All-SCIAC First-Team honors during his sophomore and junior seasons (2015, 2016). In 2016, Boone competed for USL League Two side the Portland Timbers U-23s, making two appearances for the club.
Boone made his professional debut in 2019 with the Danish Second Division team, Thisted FC, where he played for two seasons overseas. In July 2021, the 26-year-old made his return to the U.S. and signed with SD Loyal, where he made eight appearances, including a pair of starts.
“I’m super excited to be a part of a brand-new organization,” said Chase Boone. “As a player you look forward to opportunities like this and being a part of history.”
