MONTEREY BAY F.C. DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY
The newly-formed MBFC Development Academy is a U-18 (boys, 14-18 years) program designed to provide opportunities to talented young players in the local tri-county area. Players will be invited to participate in organized training throughout the year whenever their schedule permits them to do so. The program does NOT compete with any existing club programs and invited players must prioritize their club programs first. The MBFC Development Academy will work alongside local club administrators/directors to make sure expectations are set correctly.
The MBFC Development Academy will provide professional, high-level training and gaming circuits, as well as opportunities for players to progress internally through the Monterey Bay Football Club Player Pathway. Players will attend training when their club schedule allows them to do so.
The program will be conducted throughout the year, with MBFC2 (U-23) running concurrently from April to July. Any players strong enough to participate in the MBFC2 program will be invited to do so when the opportunity exists. It is our goal to identify players and then challenge them in different environments when they are deemed ready by our staff.
MISSION
To implement a philosophy throughout the club that generates opportunities for players of all ages in our local community to discover a passion for the beautiful game. Our goal is to promote soccer as a primary sporting activity and to build a culture that everyone can feel proud of.
VISION AND VALUES
Our vision is to have a structure that cultivates and grows talented young athletes in the tri-county area and provides a pathway for these athletes to fulfill their potential at a professional level. We aim to provide an environment full of creativity and quality learning experiences for every player and staff member to feel encouraged to express themselves.
Our core values and principles are to demand a safe and positive environment, be brave, courageous, support one another, show respect, and maintain a commitment to continuous improvement in order to reach our goals and objectives.
RELATIONSHIP WITH LOCAL CLUBS
The success of this program depends entirely on the relationship between Monterey Bay Football Club and the existing landscape of local youth soccer programs. As an organization, we are not looking to run a club, however, we are in a position to provide professional-level opportunities through a pathway of programs starting with our development academy.
MBFC will work directly with the directors at clubs to ensure we are all on the same page throughout the year. Ultimately, our collective goal is to develop players and provide the highest possible level of training and competition for them. Communication is very important throughout this process and we will be committed to supporting local players and building opportunities for them.
